Jane is having nightmares about Peter Kramer. She takes the cops down to the basement and shows them the dumbwaiter she hid in. It’s full of cobwebs and messy. The cops give her the ‘crazy lady’ look, but Henry has her back.
Jane looks up apartments on Craigslist back at their place. She’s that shaken up and doesn’t like feeling like she’s not being believed.
Gavin loans Dr. Scott $50k when he does a house call on Olivia. He knows Scott is a gambler and has big financial problems. Another pawn in his game. Chloroform was found in Olivia’s blood work, but he doesn’t tell her that information and neither does Dr. Scott, who lost big on a horse race after that visit.
The box thief calls the man he works for to tell him that he was successful. He’s supposed to get $1 million for the job. He wants to know why it’s so valuable. The man tells him not to open it, so he does. The boss man and his sidekick find the thief dead, take the box, add lighter fluid and burn the room.
PR lady calls Henry with an offer. He decides to meet with her. She changes his tie on the street and has arranged a meeting with some heavy weights in the city government. Afterwards, Henry didn’t like the questions they had asked about Jane. PR lady says he doesn’t need her on his arm if he wants to be big in the city. He tells her she’s wrong.
Jane and Olivia have lunch. Jane is shaken about her attack and Olivia is unhappy about that. Jane goes to the restroom and boss man sits down. Victor is his name. He tells her that Gavin is a bad man and she has a chance to get out before he takes him down. Victor tells her everything Gavin has done for her and said to her is a lie. He also advises her to get a blood test from someone who isn’t in her husband’s employ.
Back at the Drake, Gavin has some thug in a chair to interrogate over Olivia’s kidnapping. Tony’s there and his friend Sam. Sam leaves against Gavin’s wishes and he tells him he will pay. Of course. The elevator drops Sam off on a floor and the hallway is long in both directions. He can’t open a door to any apartment. Totally Twilight Zone stuff here. As he’s about to kill himself with his tie, Gavin approaches him and tells him that he knows Sam took part in the robbery, but he has found a way for him to be useful. Famous last words.
Jane goes back to the room where Peter attacked her and relives the event. One of the detectives finds her there and shows her a picture of the guy Peter killed. The one whose body was absorbed into the building on Halloween night. She sits the cop down and tells him the story of Peter Kramer, complete with newspaper clippings of the murder. Lucky for her, this detective is open minded.
The good Doctor is again betting on the horses in his apartment when he suddenly feels ripping and blood comes through his shirt. He runs into the bathroom and peels of his shirt to reveal ‘$50,000’ gouged into his skin.
Now I know that Olivia knows Gavin is ‘special’. He told her about the theft of THE box. She totally understood and wanted to know if they were in trouble. I’ve been wondering just how much she knew about her husband. Now we know.
Gavin meets with Victor. He has a big box wrapped with a bow on the table. Victor says he’s going to take everything from Gavin that he stole from him. No returns. Victor wants the Drake and Gavin tells him to open the box. He knows a lot about Gavin and Olivia. Gavin leaves and he opens the box. As I figured, Sam’s head is in it.
Henry and Jane are having issues over her attack and if he believes her. He wants to go to Brooklyn and she wants to go back to Indiana. She finally takes a magnifying glass to the old clippings and sees her necklace on Mrs. Kramer. Connection made! Glad you caught up, girl. We had that sorted out awhile ago.
Kandinsky get’s sent to the hospital after a jail visit from Gavin. Gavin rings up Dr. Scott and calls in his favor. He wants Scott to free Kandinsky.
Victor rides off with the box of special in the seat next to him. The next episode needs to reveal what the hell is up with the Dorans and that box.
