I would like to preface this article with one simple statement. These five videos have been personally chosen by me. This article is purely opinion-based and does not represent the opinions of anyone else at TVFishBowl. With that being said, let’s begin.
#5. “Harvard Baseball 2012 Call Me Maybe Cover”: Of course I have to include something that involves one of the biggest hits of the year. ”Call Me Maybe,” by the Canadian Idol winner Carly Rae Jepsen was the most infectious song of the year. Despite the fact that everyone loved to hate the song, we all knew every lyric. This cover of the song was performed by the 2012 Harvard baseball team. The video has garnered almost 18 million views to date. Considering the team had a record of 12-30 for the year, it seems to me that they were looking for a different way to get noticed because it definitely was not happening on the field.

#4. ”6 Year Old Beauty Queen”: It truly saddens me that Honey Boo Boo is now considered a “celebrity.” However, I AM including her in this list, aren’t I? The world was first introduced to Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson on the TLC show Toddlers & Tiaras. Alana and her family were soon given their own reality TV show, called Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, once the executives “redneckognized” how unique Honey Boo Boo truly is. Whether Alana is drinking her special juice or “hollering for a dollar,” she always has something interesting to say.

#3. ”Gangnam Style” by Psy: What would a “Best of..” list be without this video?! This is the most watched YouTube video of all time! I first heard this song over the summer, but its awesomeness did not quite hit me until I watched the video. Now, I find myself doing the “Gangnam Style” anytime I am at the club.

#2. Bad Lip Reading – “More Mitt”: This particular video shows Mitt Romney on the campaign trail as he tries to become the President of the United States. The people at Bad Lip Reading have several more videos on their YouTube channel. I have spent countless hours laughing hysterically at what these folks have done. Tap it, tap it in, it’s a zinger!

#1. ”It Could Happen To You”: This heart-wrenching video tells the love story of Shane Bitney Crone and Tom Bridegroom. The couple had shared their lives together for six years with the intention of one day getting married. In an unfortunate accident, Tom slipped from a rooftop and fell to his death. Tom’s family prevented Shane from attending the funeral services because they did not agree with the couple’s “lifestyle.” The purpose of this video is to bring about change in the LGBT community regarding equal rights.
