Actress Bonnie Franklin, of One Day at a Time Fame, Succumbs to Cancer at Age 69.

Franklin played an independent, single Mom with two daughters in the sitcom that aired in the 70′s and 80′s. She died in her home from Pancreatic cancer. The diagnosis had been previously announced in September of last year.bonnie-franklin-04

Miss Franklin also performed on Broadway, winning a Tony for her performance, called “Applause”. She starred alongside Lauren Bacall in that show. She also was in numerous episodes of television shows, and met her husband on the set of a movie called “Portrait of a Rebel: The Remarkable Mrs. Sanger”. The movie’s producer was Marvin Minoff, and they were married nearly 30 years, before he passed in 2009.

She is survived by Claire Franklin, her mother, and her stepchildren Jed and Julie Minoff.
