adam strangeAward winning, short film Director Adam Strange, 46, was attacked and killed by what is thought to have been a Great White Shark, off of the coast of New Zealand. The attack took place on February 27th, while Police in a helicopter watched, unable to come to his aid.

Apparently, Mr. Strange had been swimming about 220 feet off shore, and swam into an area where several sharks were feeding on birds and fish. After struggling with the shark, and initially getting away, a second attack proved fatal for the director. After the body was retrieved, the Muriwai Beach near Auckland was closed.

A statement released by Strange’s family called him “a glorious and great father, husband and friend.”
