TVFishbowl is learning that Bethenny Frankel’s divorce from Jason Hoppy has turned ugly! I kind of had a feeling this wouldn’t be an amicable divorce.
A source close to the couple tell TVFishbowl that Frankel has request full primary custody of the couple’s daughter Bryn in her divorce petition to the court. The insider states that “Bethenny is requesting primary custody because she has plans to take her talk show back to Los Angeles and is also planning to move back to LA as there are more opportunities,” in the City of Angels.
“Jason was blindsided by Bethenny’s request for primary custody of Bryn. The plan all along had been for them to have joint custody of the two-year old. Jason believes that Bethenny has filed for primary custody so that if her talk show does shoot in Los Angeles, he won’t be allowed to object,” the insider tells TVFishbowl.
“Jason will file his response and will most likely seek joint custody of Bryn. Jason is also floored that Bethenny is asking for child support from him since she is worth at least $100 million. This divorce isn’t going to be amicable, by any means,” the insider states.
“Jason wanted this to be an amicable divorce, but when it comes to Bryn, all bets are now off. He will remain in her life as her father, and Jason won’t settle for seeing his daughter whenever Bethenny allows it. Jason is a fantastic father, and absolutely devoted to Bryn. Jason won’t be bullied by Bethenny or her lawyers,” says the insider.
As TVFishbowl previously reported here and here, The Real Housewives of New York star released the statement that she and Hoppy were parting ways, saying: “It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating. This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family.”

Poor Bryn. She needs stability and familiar surroundings now more than ever.
NOTHING is easy with this woman. Not surprised one bit. Regardless what you think of her mother, her mother predicted this to a tee. She uses people to get what she wants and when she’s done, she discards them. She doesn’t know how to be a friend and she sure doesn’t know how to be a partner. I hope she stays single because she will never have a lasting relationship.
