The Big Brother 15 interview we have all been waiting for! Big Brother 15 Aaryn Gries declares she’s not racist, she’s Texan!
Julie Chen: “In the early days of this game you said some pretty harsh things about your fellow housemates. Amanda even tried to warn you, give you heads up, that some of your words, others were interpreting as being racist. How do you respond to that?”
Aaryn Gries: “Being Southern is a stereotype and I have said some things that have been taken completely out of context and wrong, and I do not mean to ever come off racist, that’s not me, and I apologize to anyone I’ve offended for that.”
This poor girl is delusional, nothing she said on the live feeds was taken out of context. Her overall excuse for her racist and homophobic remarks was because she’s from Texas. Shortly after the eviction interview Texans across Twitter erupted in outrage that she would stereo type the people of the great state as blatantly racists and homophobic.
Aaryn Gries: ”In Texas, we say things. Sometimes we joke and we don’t mean it. I feel how bad it is being seen and how I’ve come across to people. I don’t want to seem like that person.”
Many truly do hope that Aaryn will learn from her experience on Big Brother, I however don’t see her changing anytime soon. While in the Big Brother house she continually blamed fellow house guests Howard Overby and Candice Stewart for her racist image. Poor girl refuses to take any blame for the image she’s created for herself. I believe the only reason she attempted to apologize last night was because of the reaction of the audience. You could see the realization that people were mad at her slowly spread across her face as the interview with Julie Chen continued.
I do hope that in all fairness Julie Chen employs the same interview tactic on GinaMarie Zimmerman, Amanda Zuckerman, and Spencer Clawson. If you’re going to call one out, so must you call them all out for their retched behavior.
Many are wondering if CBS gave Aaryn the heads up she’s been dropped by her modeling agency over her behavior in the house. Because she’s made it to the “jury house” it’s highly unlikely CBS gave her any information from the outside world. Unless she voluntarily leaves the show after last nights revelations (which I see as highly likely as she has time to process), she will remain sequestered from the outside world until the show ends in September.
