MTV has announced a casting call for High School Seniors that are planning on taking a “GAP” year after graduating in May/June 2013.  A GAP year is when you wait one year to enter college. If you are taking advantage of this year for the vacation of a lifetime, a summer job, or another interesting venture before entering college in 2014 ~ they’d like to hear from you! MTV is making a documentary of high school seniors taking a “GAP” year.

Please send a video that gives your information (name, location, contact information, etc.), explain your special plans for the year, and enclose a recent photograph of yourself. Email your information to mtvshowcasting2013@gmail.com .

If you apply & want to let us know in comments, we’d love that! Good luck to all applicants!

This could be a very enlightening show, if done correctly. I am a big believer that high school seniors who do not yet know what type of career they want should take one year to explore, meet all kinds of folks, do research and find that path. Who wouldn’t root for all the kids as they encounter their “aha!” moment! Great subject matter.

I agree. My niece went to Europe w/just a backpack (and a friend)- it wasn’t year between HS & college, but an experience like that could really give you insight into what you really want to do with your life. Not what your parents have told you, or society has told you.
I think they should send some middle-age women on a trip like that…see how we cope. HAHA wouldn’t that be a blast?
