As many have noticed, I have completely stopped blogging on Big Brother 15. This was my first year as a “super fan”, and live feed watcher. I was completely blown away with how others fans react to someone not liking their player, and I was mortified by the way they attack the families of these people playing for $500,000.
I am an extremely opinionated person, and I have a hot temper. I am the first person to REACT and think later. I’ve found myself loving a player in one moment and despising them in the next. I think that’s just how it goes, when so much changes in the Big Brother house on a daily basis.
What I haven’t enjoyed is watching people’s lives fall apart because of their poor word choices, or actions while in the Big Brother house. I am the first to admit that I have taken great joy in making comments about “not being able to wait for the houseguest(s) to get out of the house and find out they’ve been fired”… but, once I actually removed myself and sat back from the feeds…. I didn’t actually MEAN that. I don’t enjoy knowing that these people who have been under constant monitoring have had their lives (and possibly families lives), destroyed because they screwed up. And, let’s face it… they did SCREW UP.
I hope that when this season ends and these people re-enter the REAL WORLD, that people can try to remember it was JUST A GAME. They are actual human beings who feel real pain, as we all do. Possibly educating some, and forgiving others is what’s really needed, rather than bashing them or wishing them harm. I also hold out hope that people will stop making death threats toward the families of the players, or the players themselves. It’s sick and nothing to joke about. Human life is ALWAYS of value.
Hopefully, next season…I can take a bit of my advice and not get so wrapped up in it all? Just enjoy the game and those that come with it. Here’s to hope!!
