I’m going to talk about something a little bit different this time! On a whim one day, I followed and RT’ed a Twitter post from an account called Hemp Authority. They were doing a contest, and the winner got three pairs of socks, in different styles, for free, to try out. Low and behold, Sopermama (THAT’S ME!) won some socks! I was so excited, because hey, free socks, and frankly and I really did need some. The company got in touch with me right away, which impressed me straight off. The socks arrived to my house within a week, and I was like a little kid on Christmas. One thing they did, which made me very happy, was they sent me no white ones. I know this seems picky and petty since they were free, but I hate white socks. ANYHOO…. They sent me a black pair, a dark dusky blue pair and a black/tan speckled pair. I love all the colors. The blue and the black pair are more form fitting, while the speckled pair are a slouchy sock. I threw those on first because they looked like they would be good to loaf around in. WOW….. I was so right! So comfy!
Now, one thing that is very important to me is fabric texture. I have a “thing” about this. It drives my hubby nuts. I cannot stand the way certain fabrics feel. If we are out shopping for him and I don’t like how the shirt “feels”, he’s not buying it. (I AM in charge afterall ) Anyway, that is not an issue with these socks. They are very soft, and felt good on my feet. I have to admit I was a bit nervous about this before I got them, but it turned out to be a non-issue. They also washed up very well with minimal shrinkage. In fact, they got softer after I washed them. This made me very happy. (Side note: you can rip through the house on the hardwood floors like NOBODY’S BUSINESS!)
I also like that they are made from a sustainable resource. Here is the nitty-gritty:
47% Cotton, 38% Hemp, 15% Nylon
- Knit with Eco-Friendly Hemp Yarn
- Crafted for Exceptional Comfort
- Classic, Breathable Styling
- Made in America!
You can’t really ask for much more than that, can you? Comfort, style, eco-friendly. Plus, I recommended it!
