Homeland Dec. 9th ‘The MotherF**ker With A Turban’

Estes has always been a shady, heartless excuse for a man and he proved it on this episode.  Setting Saul up for a fall with manipulative and indicting questions on a polygraph.  Grow a mustache, Estes, because you need to be twirling it right now.
Saul isn’t stupid and he won’t be played.  He called his pull out on the Nazir chase for what it is.  A plan to kill Brody, a US Congressman and Marine in the eyes of America. Polygraph man in Estes pocket left that part out of the report because it pinged as truthful.  That doesn’t help the plan.  Estes and Saul get their time alone.  Saul tells him he wants him out of the way to assassinate Brody.  Estes doesn’t like being undermined by Saul and wants him gone.  The file they built will sink him. His choice.

Carrie is not sleeping on the word from the task force FBI crews that Nazir cannot be found where she last saw him.  She went off the rails for a bit about Alvez in her suspicions, but she reigned it in and goes back to the CIA where they’re holding Roya.  Carrie tries her best tactics on her, but Roya isn’t having it.  She’s an ice queen and now she shows she can be a barracuda for the cause with an outburst that gets Carrie removed from the room.  Peter tells her to go home and get some rest.

Dana is losing her shit at the Brody temporary housing.  She is hating on Brody.  Girl needs a hysteria slap.  Why doesn’t Brody go live with that crazy woman and they need Mike because he was a better father to them.  Truth on that.  Jessica wants everyone to chill until they get to their house and then figure things out.

Carrie doesn’t drive home.  She backtracks and heads back to the scene of her captivity.  She calls Peter and tells him Roya had said Nazir wouldn’t run and this stuck in Carrie’s mind.  She knows he’s in the tunnels. Back at the scene, they’re wrapping up the equipment to leave.  Carrie stops the FBI sweep team and tells them they need to look again.  She goes in with one of them and turns her back.  The FBI agent is killed with a knife to the throat.  Rats don’t use knives, but Nazir does.  Carrie screams out that he’s there and Nazir kicks her butt.  When the FBI team finds him, he’s kneeled on the ground and reaches into his pocket.  Shots ring out. Dude did say he knew he’d never leave America alive.  The most wanted terrorist is dead.

Estes appears and congratulates Carrie.  Tells her it’s a big day for all of them and she must be happy.  She looks at Nazir’s body one more time.  Her long chase is over.  Away from Carrie, Estes tells Peter that the Brody’s family is headed back home.  He knows what he has to do.

Brody gets the word from his family and the secret service agent that Nazir is dead.  He weeps, then in Brody fashion, simply stops and smiles. Time to go home.  They arrive and Brody just sits in the car as his family leaves.  He can’t go in.  Jessica gets in the car and they talk as if they’re over.  So much happened to them, to him.  He starts to tell her about the day Tom Walker and Elizabeth Gaines died, but she the truth she’d been begging for is no longer what she wants to hear.  She says that Carrie knows and accepts Brody and his truths.  He must love her a lot.  What are they going to tell the kids?  Jessica thinks they already know.  She gets out of the car and goes inside.  I feel for her now looking back to the years she thought she was a widow to this moment.  Girl is tired. Girl is through.

Brody shows up at Carrie’s door.  He tells her that it was her or Walden as he strokes her face.  “It wasn’t even close.”  She kisses his hand and invites him in.  Peter is watching.

One more episode, ‘The Choice’ and it looks like Whoa!
