As I have watched this case unfold these past few weeks, I have determined that Jodi Arias is a true narcissist. We have been subjected to the graphic details of her many sexual exploits, we have learned things that most of “normal” persons would never want to learn. Now don’t get me wrong, I am sure that at some point most of us had some sort of kinky fantasy, but most of us never actually act upon those said fantasies.
Today’s testimony reminds me of the infamous “OJ Simpson” trial…where the Defense team asked Mr. Simpson to put the “glove” on his hand, and Johnny Cochran says to the jury “if it doesn’t fit, you must acquit.” I literally laughed out loud and Kurt Nurmi took this approach today in court! Does Mr. Nurmi really believe that the jury is stupid enough to fall for this? If so, what does this say about us as a society?
I have said before that in most cases I have the ability to see both sides, but in this particular case I have been utterly unable to find the holes in the Prosecution. Juan Martinez has done a phenomenal job at lining up all the points which prove premeditation in this case! You have the fact that one week before Travis Alexander was murdered, Jodi Arias’ grandparents house was broken into and a 25 caliber handgun was stolen (same type of gun used in the commission of Travis Alexander’s murder.) Then there is the fact that Jodi Arias drove 90 miles out of her way to rent a car to supposedly just drive around town. Juan Martinez also makes the point that Jodi Arias’ license plates on the rental car were altered, one could make the assumption that it was done to throw witnesses off if she was seen driving away from the murder scene. Juan Martinez also makes the point that she altered her appearance, she was blonde when she rented the car and she was brunette when she returned it. I am sure there is more that I am missing that points to premeditation, but you get my drift I’m sure.
Now Jodi Arias claims that it was because she happened to drop Travis Alexanders’ camera, while taking photos of him in the shower, that Travis then attacked her and she felt the need to defend herself and by defend herself I mean, shoot him in the head, slash his throat so severely that she nearly decapitated him, and then commence to stabbing him more than 27 times. Now Jodi Arias has testified in court that she had not planned to visit Travis but at the last second changed her mind because “he had a way of guilting her” into doing things. Jodi Arias also testified to having sexual relations with Travis Alexander the day he was murdered. Most people who have been watching the trial I am sure believe this, but I have a theory on that as well.
If you have seen the photos taken of Travis Alexander in the shower, look at his face. Does Travis Alexander look happy, or look like he’s trying to be sexy? I don’t think so. I look at these photos and see a man who looks pissed and scared. I see a man who might be looking at a woman who now holds a gun to him. I see a man crouching down in the shower because the woman holding the gun to him is telling him to do so. Am I the only one who has thought this?

Martinez is brilliant and did the job. Arias is only a scorned woman who was obsessed with a sex partner and fabricated some crap because she was jealous that the object named Travis had another interest and she, Arias, got dumped because she was only good for sex and not love. Her own fault as that is how she presented herself to Alexander — and why buy the cow when you get its milk for free? Guilty as hell. Case closed.
Completely agree! At first I was a little concerned Juan was being to aggressive but he pulled it back in brilliantly. I will be interested to hear what the defense experts are going o say, because Mr. Nurmi will have to, in my opinion, present expert testimony to back up the theory of battered woman syndrome.
Why is Kurt Nurmi going ….on …and ….on about Jodi’s sex life instead of Travis getting ‘slaughtered??? B.S. The judge has got to get hold of this courtroom!!! Jodi is so guilty and you know she remembers it ALL…I was a battered wife and I remember every yell,kick,slap,punch..you can never forget that. She has selective memory, Mr.Martinez SAVE US!!!
I honestly think Mr. Nurmi is getting off on this line of questioning. It’s a distraction and I think he’s hoping it will deter the jury of giving her the death penalty…
It’s his only strength in trying to make his case of her being “abused.” It’s really not Nurmi’s fault, it’s his job. He has to try to build a defense that may be, tenuous at best, somewhat plausible.
Don’t think the jury is buying it. But then again … look at the Casey Anthony jury. How could you come away with reasonable doubt with all that circumstantial evidence? Ugh. I no longer trust juries on famous cases.
God I really hope the jury isn’t buying it. I have heard a rumor going around that Nurmi specializes in sex driven cases…it’s kind of his thing. I could be wrong though.
omg, I said the same thing to my sister. that guy looks scared in the shower and i think the same thing that she’s holding the gun on him in that shower.I am glad i am not the only one who thought that. I have never seen a trial like this. Casey anthonys trial was a joke compared to this.I dont think the jury is buying any of it .
