Mark Zuckerberg donated $500 Million to charity, making good on the Buffet’s Giving Pledge he signed in 2010, a promise to donate the majority of his money.  Company stock, which was valued at $498.9 million on Tuesday, went to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.

Zuckerberg announced the donation on his Facebook, perhaps to gain some goodwill after the Instagram Terms Of Service debacle this week.

Silicon Valley Community Foundation serves as the distributor of donated monies.  They managed the distribution of Zuckerberg’s $100 million donation in 2010 which went to public schools in Newark, New Jersey.

Warren Buffet had the largest charitable donation of $3 billion in 2012.
