Fourteen drag sensations will be competing to be America’s Top Drag Superstar on the 5th Season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. 

Ru and the Judges will be looking for one queen who exudes the Drag Race personna, of the four elements: Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, Talent. (I’ll let you spell it out).

What we have are short interview segments of each contestant to help you get to know them a little better. I’ll break them down into three groups, with the first 5 queens below.

So let’s get this Kiki started …

 

First up is…. ALASKA.   

“Big, beautiful, and batshit crazy,” Alaska is following in the footsteps of her very famous boyfriend/girlfriend: Sharon Needles. But will living with America’s Next Drag Superstar give Alaska a leg up on the competition, or just encourage unfavorable comparisons? Either way, she’s got some big pumps to fill. Alaska hails from Pittsburgh, PA.

 

 

 next…Alyssa Edwards 

Alyssa is known as the Vanessa Williams of drag, after a scandal forced her to relinquish a major pageant title. But don’t get it twisted – this trained dancer is here to show America she’s still got what it takes to win. Alyssa comes to us from Mesquite, TX.

 

Third up is … Coco Montrese 

Outspoken and headstrong, Coco is a polished celebrity impersonator, performing as Janet Jackson to sold-out crowds six nights a week in Las Vegas, her hometown. But can Coco translate looking the part of a superstar into being one?

 

Meet…  DETOX 

Fierce and foulmouthed, Detox resides in Los Angeles, and has the Hollywood resume to show for it. When she’s not starring in Rihanna music videos or recording singles with Ke$ha, she’s showcasing her formidable lip-synch as part of Chad Michaels’ legendary Dreamgirls Revue.

 

  Honey Mahogany…is our next contestant. 

Named after two shades of foundation, Honey Mahogany is the first San Francisco queen on Drag Race. Gregarious and approachable, this leggy beauty originally hails from Ethiopia. Her hometown is San Francisco, CA.
