NASHVILLE Mid-Season Finale “Where He Leads Me” RECAP, A Picture Is Worth A Few Thousand

You Got The Wrong Song.

It’s mid season finale time and tonight on Nashville, we find two major battles at the James house. They both stem from some rather contrived photos of Teddy and his friend and fellow crook Patricia. I have seen the photos and they to me do not say affair. They are used like sterno under your favorite brunch dish and Rayna is getting a little burnt around the edges.

After the anniversary show the head of the label hears the quant sounds of old fashion cash registers humming, as are the fans. The duo “You Got The Wrong Song” is a smash. Any one can see the two artist paired up would be a concert, if not a professional sell out. Jayme’s and Juliette Barnes may co-headline a tour after all. (So Lets do some Abbott and Costello and Who’s on First). Both singers have a hate-hate relationship with one another.

“I don’t think Rayna and Juliette will ever be completely thrilled with being in each other’s presence but they might have to figure out how to live with it,” says creator Callie Khouri who tells TVFishbowl News.

Considering Juliette hasn’t officially said yes and Rayna really only said that she’s “not saying no” The ABC’s country music drama will skip ahead a few months when it returns from its winter hiatus in 2013 to see the singers grappling with the idea of hitting the road together.

“We’re not sure if we’ll follow a potential tour,” Khouri notes of the idea of the Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere following the duo outside of Nashville. “Nashville itself is such a character that on one hand we want to show that experience of Nashville and on the other hand, leaving Nashville is a whole other kettle of fish because it separates the characters from their families so we’re not totally sure.”

Franklin Scarlett gave a dammed rendition of “Ring of Fire” and from that Hailey thinks she should front a band. Yes, lets pick the shy introverted girl and make her the lead singer. That spells out future alcohol and drug addiction. She should have a therapist on speed dial.

Gunnar is a bit put off with the idea of Scarlett the bandleader; he thinks this will decrease their time together as up and coming songwriters. Really the producers are setting up his big mack on her scene. Hailey goes comet as she see’s how Gunnar looks at Scarlett. Another tell-tell sign is the bulge in his pants. Kind of obvious, since he weights all of a 100 pounds soaking wet.

I kissed a girl

Look out Katie Perry here comes Gunner as he gives Scarlett some big time tongue action. This makes their already awkward relationship even more so.

Avery plays a gig for Wyclef John and gets invited to Atlanta on his private plane to do some recording with him. Avery is just about to have a Diana Ross moment with Where Did My Love Go? Not only has he lost his girl, he is now faced with the decision that Wyclef wants a solo act not a band. I think a bit foolish but Avery has to decide if he truly wants to be the Real Musicians Of Atlanta or stand by his band.

Deacon and the Revel Kings, want Deacon to go on tour with them as their guitarist. He waffles for a long time, talking to Juliette and Rayna, who both tell him he’d be a dumbass not to do it.

Nashville, has few similarities to real life in Nashville with the exception that Rayna consistently uses her friend Deacon who gave up his carrier to write music for her, play music with her and oh yea be there for her. But Selfishness and narcissism is right on the money. So the country legion keeps up that ole Christmas spirit by giving the best impression of scrooge to once long time family friend Coleman.

Teddy’s fraud is out and we are left to believe for the moment he wasn’t having an affair (allegedly) but that instead he is a total thieving liar. It’s always the spouse that is the last to know. That sounds like a country song, oh my bad it is thank you Ms. Reba. After Peggy ODs, the affair thing becomes things that make you go hum.. Coleman takes a leak and sends the pictures out to the press. I guess he is just as corrupt as they all are. It’s when the times are the hardest is the real measure of the man. Deacon should run. He is honest and easily lead.

Rayna does the Ida Straus thing and stands by her man as the Titanic sinks in an grand public statement about how she loves her husband, knowing he is a lier and a thief. She has to be strong for her kids. Lets think this threw. Go on tour with a pop teen idol you can not stand and make lots of money and sell your tunes or stay home with a man you thought you knew who may have cheated on you, but has cheated investors and is losing money and your trust. Your choice.

Seano and Juliette,

Nothing like a good ole fashion Sunday dinner, after church to seduce your boyfriend. As he is full as a tick and filled with the Holy Spirit, it makes for some ripe pickings for a pop vamp these days. Juliette ‘s is ignoring calls from her mother (who isn’t, her mom called me three times today.) Juliette is on project Sean after seeing his great abs of death and hot body.

She went to church to prey to get laid. She gave a pair of pricy boots to Sean’s sister. Now Sean’s mommy dearest is by no way fooled. She see’s right threw to Juliette’s corrupt side, and puts the kibosh on. She knows this all started as publicity stunt and she doesn’t want her sensitive son heartbroken or other organs messed with by that little hussy. And will stop her at all cost.

Juliette, Juliette where for art thou dear Juliette. Well she invites her 700 club boyfriend over for dinner,. She is serving her famous pink taco aldente and when that is not enough for desert she pops the question. Yep marriage.

Great recap. I loved this finale, although I’m not sure how I feel about Juliette proposing. I was a little shocked when I saw the episode. I missed it when it first aired because I’ve been working extra hours at DISH, but I caught it on my DVR the other day. Nashville is set to auto-record on my DISH Hopper along with the other shows on the four major networks during primetime hours using PrimeTime Anytime, so it was easy for me to watch the show even though I forgot to set a timer. And that proposal certainly left us with a cliffhanger for the winter break. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens in January.
