Dear Dr. Mitch:drmitch

I don’t know what to do.  My skin is so dry it cracks on my knuckles because I wash my hands so much to avoid germs.   What do you recommend?

C.B., Florida

Dear C.B.:

I’m glad to hear you are washing your hands because it is the best way to avoid germs as well as NOT touching your face.  You’re right, the frequent washing can be harsh on your skin though.  If possible, only use organic soaps, rinse the soap completely and dry your hands well too!  You can buy extra virgin coconut oil and some Vitamin E as the natural mixed tocopherols, open one and rub the oil into your knuckles then on top of it rub extra virgin coconut oil. Do this at least twice a day AND make certain that you do this before you go to bed.  You may also use a thicker oil like pure 100% Shea butter or castor oil which should make your hands perfectly smooth again.

Look good, feel good and have great sex!
