On this episode of Party Down South, we get to see how the South gets down and dirty. 4 wheelers, fights, and hook ups.
Mattie claims she did not hook up with Lyle the previous night. She has a boyfriend and all, you know. Lauren is acting very awkward the next morning, and Lyle can obviously sense it (as well as everyone else).
Upstairs, Murray confronts Ryan about “poaching” (great word) on his girl the night before. Ryan aka “Daddy” annoyingly plays naïve, and gives a fake apology as if he didn’t know what he was doing. Murray is not stupid and trust me, you don’t mess with Mississippi. Murray laid the law down. He doesn’t know what goes on in Ryan’s head sometimes, and he’s not alone.
Taylor, Lauren, and Lyle head out for their very first day of work. Taylor is in Heaven working next to a bunch of men.
She thinks it’s weird that neither Lyle nor Mattie have talked about their hook up the previous night (kind of like how Lauren was in denial about her entire hook up). But Mattie and Lyle didn’t hook up, guys. Mattie has a boyfriend, remember?
Lyle will not share water with Lauren, because he doesn’t “share water with anyone.” This is only going to make the whole love triangle thing even more awkward if you ask me. It makes no sense that he can’t share his water with Lauren. As Taylor says, he gave Lauren everything else he’s got.
Back at the house, the boys discuss the
jealousy triangle. Walt feels that Wild Lyle is confusing the two women. Unless this love triangle was going on longer than the show is making it seem, then I’m not seeing what Lyle is doing that is so wrong, to be honest. Lauren hooked up with him after 2 days of knowing him, and he’s supposed to be completely devoted to her? He’s having fun, Mattie seems to be having fun too, and Lauren WAS having fun, until she let herself fall for a man she barely even knows. It’s Lauren who is the wild one.
Murray asks “Daddy” when he’s going to bring home a chick. Ryan replies that he’s just going to keep having sex with himself. My bet is, he’ll just wait until Murray brings home a girl and poach again.
At work, Lyle proudly announces that “last night was amazing” and informs his new employer that he slept in Mattie’s bed. Right in front of Taylor and Lauren. He then asks the two if they had fun the night before. Lyle is becoming rather messy, and it’s not a good look on him. Lauren quickly answers, no, as she should. That was messy.
The three head home after work, and join the others on the back patio. “Daddy” is giving everyone tips on what to do if you wake up next to a girl, and you didn’t use a condom. (Make sure you have that hydrogen peroxide handy, just in case you need to poor it down your private, y’all!) The house is warming up to Ryan. “Daddy” is a personal favorite of mine on the show, but I’d watch him out of the corner of my eye if I lived in that house with him. He seems shady.
Inside the house, Mattie talks to her boyfriend, Derek, back home. He, once again, shows his jealousy. I’m not understanding his logic. He knew she was going on this show, and he knew there were going to be plenty of men she meets and I’m sure he knew of the possibility of her having male roommates. Why is he acting so surprised and psycho? And I was honestly under the impression that the two were taking a break while she was away, but I was obviously wrong about that.
Derek is the only boy who Mattie has ever dated. Murray reminds Mattie that she hasn’t hooked up with anyone nor has she had sex with anyone (mm). Mattie informs Murray and Tiffany that even if Derek knew that Lyle was in her bed, it wouldn’t be good. Well gee, Mattie, maybe you should have thought about that BEFORE you allowed him to be in your bed.
Derek calls the house again. Murray answers, and Derek rudely demands to speak to Mattie. Once on the phone, he continues to be an upset, jealous monster. I don’t know how to feel about this. I mean, in a way, he is right to feel the way he feels. Mattie was in bed with Lyle. However, he doesn’t even know any of that, and even if he did, that does not give him the right to disrespect any of her roommates. They don’t owe him anything. Mattie is the only one with an obligation to him. Mattie
finally breaks up with Derek.
Lyle lets Mattie know that she is too beautiful to ever let a man talk to her that way. Um, is she also too beautiful to allow a man to talk about her to her new employer as if she is a jump off, Lyle?
Mattie feels closer to the house.
The following day, Mattie feels she should call Derek and apologize for hurting him. Taylor tells her that it’s not a good idea, and Mattie agrees that she just needs to “stop being a vagina.”
It’s Mattie’s, Murray’s and Ryan aka “Daddy’s” day to work. Murray informs the two what he though of them when he first saw them: a stripper and a douche. Mattie is surprised at this, but Murray feels that she looks like every other stripper we’ve all seen.
Did anyone else notice Ryan just walking around as the other two are working?
The gang decides to go out for the night. Lauren and Tiffany spot two “sharks” at the bar. Taylor sees that Lauren just wants to get Lyle’s attention, and I agree. The guys invite the house to play in the mud and ride 4 wheelers. One of the guys drinks his beer out of his cowboy boot….true Southerner (or just a moron). Ryan drinks out of the boot next. Gross.
The house is real happy to play in the mud the next day. It’s like Christmas morning, y’all!
Lyle never thought he’d be so happy to meet another man at a bar, and is so excited to have some good old country fun. He also notices how sexy Mattie looks while covered in mud.
Taylor literally gets ants in her breeches after riding on the car hood while getting pulled by the 4 wheeler.
Everyone is bruised and cut up from the day’s fun. I don’t know if that southern fun is worth it, but I’d watch from a distance.
Lauren wants to cook lasagna, so they go out and get food.
Lyle, Ryan and Taylor go to work. Taylor hopes the lasagna is ready before she gets home. Mattie, Tiffany, and Walt decide to go paddle boarding while they wait on a sleeping Lauren to wake up and cook the food.
Lauren finally wakes up, and feels so energized. Energized enough to go and hang out with Lyle at the bar (WHAT?) She, Ryan, and Lyle hit the bar and begin drinking.
The rest of the house minus Murray spots them at the bar, and the girls question Lauren about the lasagna. Tiffany knows they lasagna doesn’t take 45 minutes to make, so she and Taylor go home to cook it themselves.
Murray wakes up from a nap, and he, Tiffany and Taylor join the others at the bar. Lauren and Tiffany talk out the lasagna drama. I see where both are coming from. Tiffany is dragging this lasagna deal out, however, they DID spend all that money specifically for that meal, so Lauren should have just had it ready.
Two hating blondes decide to shout profanities at Mattie in the bar. Lyle defends her and tells the girls they need to go somewhere.
The haters’ knight in shining armor comes to their rescue, and tries to fight Lyle in the bar. A security guard and Tiffany try to defuse the situation, but the man spits and it lands all over Tiffany, who responds by throwing her beer and cup (rightfully) in his face. Lyle walks away.
However, in the parking lot, he sees the man shirtless. Where he comes from, that’s a threat. Don’t mess with a Boudreaux. A girl threatens Lyle and Mattie shows her why don’t mess with Lyle.
Next week, is Lyle’s birthday and Mattie wants to make him feel special.
