Prince will be the recipient of an Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards on May 19th. His Purple Highness is also scheduled to perform at the show in the Vegas MGM Grand Garden Arena.
The 54-year-old super talent has had a wildly successful career in the music industry with 10 platinum albums and 30 Top 40 singles to his credit.
Prince’s best known works are the album and movie, Purple Rain, I Wanna Be Your Lover and Little Red Corvette, but that list doesn’t even touch his contributions to the music industry. The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee can’t be pinned down to a genre which has made him a legend to music lovers over the past 35 years.
