I don’t know about you but I’ve been wondering “what happened to Andrae?” since my beloved Tim Gunn uttered those words in season 2 of Project Runway. Well now we get to find out. Yes kids, Andrae is back along with some other favorites…and of course some designers we all love to hate (I’m looking at you Wendy Pepper).
They’ve put together a great mix of personalities. All previous seasons except the 4th have at least one designer competing. It is going to be interesting to see how some of the personalities mix. Imagine the scheming that could take place if Ivy and Wendy Pepper team up…and the delicious snark that that would elicit from Joshua. Will the one named wonders Casanova and Suede, who both speak in the third person, frequently clash or recognize a kindred spirit?
The fantastically quippy Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman are returning as judges along with a new judge/host, Carolyn Murphy. Joanna Coles is mentoring again this season. We’ll miss Tim but she is definitely an acceptable substitute.
Hopefully this season will bring us some fantastic challenges with drool worthy clothes. Now I love Miss Piggy but designing clothes for her was a bit on the ridiculous side. Personally I’m hoping for less gimicky challenges like that and more traditional challenges. A non-traditional materials challenge is always fun but last All Stars season seemed to skew heavily in that direction. Regardless, it will be a fantastic ride!
Let’s get ready for meltdowns as well as triumphs!
