RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars – “Queens Behaving Badly”

Written by on November 7, 2012 in RuPaul's Drag Race

The bad girl queens try to butch it up and also hit the streets of Hollywood to prank unsuspecting passers-by in the latest All Star episode. RuPaul’s extra special guest judges are SNL’s funny lady Rachel Dratch (who’s not a Debbie Downer) and the world’s first supermodel, Janice Dickinson.

She-Mail arrives and the mini-challenge is for the teams to transform into their best “butch male realness” and using mini digital cameras take self-pics (queens with iPhones?). Eyeliner pencil used for moustaches, brown foundation used as ‘dirt’, it was all reverse drag. In the end, Team Yarlexis won the mini, tho don’t expect to see their final shots on Grindr anytime soon.

Now for the main challenge, where each queen needs to pull off a variety of pranks on passers-by in Hollywood. While one half of a team is in the booth with Ru, watching on hidden camera, and telling the street queen what prank to pull next via an earpiece, points are awarded for each completed prank. Then they switch roles and total up the points. Hollywood, and the tourists, are used to seeing wild and crazy on the streets, but how will they react to the All Stars…in day drag?

Ru proclaims, “A true Drag Race hall-of-famer can use her charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent to convince anybody to do anything.”  Well, Jujubee sure succeeded at that as she convinced a guy to let her spray whipped cream..not on him.. but IN his pants!! And they call the queens crazy? In a nod to ‘Candid Camera’, we watched Ru’s girls have people walk them on a leash, crack eggs on their foreheads (the tourist’s forehead!), convincing a woman to put on an adult diaper, eating grapes out of people’s hands…some simple, some hard.  Jujubee, Chad & Shannel all racked up points. Team Yarlexis just couldnt buy a prank.

The Runway challenge is ‘Bad Girl Chic’ and this is where the fierce all came out.

Team RuJubee work a dominatrix-at-an-S&M-party vibe, with Raven sporting some insane Geisha doll lips. Team Shad do some fierce nineties bitches. Yarlexis was all Mad-Max-y with dyed hair draped on her leather corset, while Yara Sofia took over the runway with curtain rods of extensions affixed to her head. Team Latrila goes as Divine (Latrice) and Manila gave off a Morticia in a metal band look. She also strapped an upside-down patent leather pump to her head with a red flame of a feather spurting from the end of the heel. But the most imaginative, or ‘WTH moment’ was Yara Sofia with her hair.

The scores from the prank challenge are revealed and Team Shad came out on top. Therefore, they are safe from elimination, which is lucky for them since they had the weakest runway drag. Before they leave the stage, Ru asks that “this-will-start-a-cat-fight” question…”who do you think should go home?”.  They say, Team Yarlexis, explaining that Alexis is not pulling her weight. Team Shad retires to the Lounge.

Ru asks the same of the other teams left on stage. Team Latrila say Yarlexis, as does Team Rujubee.  Alexis then snaps back and bitch slaps the others saying Team Yarlexis is there to take down everyone, and that means you…and you…and YOU.

The judges deliberate, Michelle and Janice get into a tiff, and the judges realize the decision is getting tougher and tougher. Ru notes that it’s the difference between an A and an A-minus.

Team Yarlexis is safe, leaving Teams Rujubee and Latrila to lip sync for their lives.  Jujubee and Manila give their best to Janet Jackson’s “Nasty Boys”, with Juju & Raven staying, and Latrice & Manila sashaying away.

Team Latrila’s exit was most emotional for them all, as they had tears and group hugs on stage, and Ru telling Latrice and Manila  ”I think I’m gonna miss you two the most.”   Viva Latrila!
