The awards season continued its kick off this morning with the announcement of the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Lincoln and Silver Linings Playbook lead the way with four major nominations each, including lead actor recognition for Daniel Day-Lewis, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, and supporting nominations for Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones.
Les Miserables, which opens Christmas Day, also earned four nominations, including lead actor Hugh Jackman and supporting actress Anne Hathaway.
The biggest nomination winner was 77-year-old Maggie Smith. The two-time Oscar-winning British actress scored the most SAG nominations Wednesday — four in all.
In the television competition, Modern Family took the most nominations with four, followed by 30 Rock, whose final season garnered three nominations.
The dramas Downtown Abbey and Homeland, and the HBO movie Game Change, received three nominations.
