Will a baby mind If its sofa is sweated up? Daddy Fitz don’t care. He’d rather sleep there than with Mellie. Hello!
The writers are making sure that the boundaries of this relationship are clear. A few episodes back, I thought Mellie Mel was losing her touch of Cruella. Now it’s confirmed. This couple cannot stand each other. Love their testy, snappy dialogue. Fake care, fake smiles, fake looks of adoration.
Case of the week: Mr. and Mrs Nystrom came in with Senator Davis to meet with Olivia. Their 19 year-old daughter, Jenny, hadn’t been seen since Saturday.
It’s discovered that Jenny is the Anon author of ‘Beltway Unbuckled,’ a blog that dishes on the sexploits of Washington, D.C.’s elite. She was at the State Department for a party called ‘Around the World’ on the day of her disappearance. An embassy benefit dinner where young women are selected to romp with diplomats. This was going to be hot scoop for her blog (which could be a show itself). National sympathy morphs into national slut shaming.
Jenny’s been found dead. A slow death after hitting a windshield and getting dumped in the woods. Glass is from a 458 Spider. Olivia orders cross referencing the vehicle with the party guest list and disappears.
She’s been leaving her nest quite a bit. This season it’s a problem with Quinn and Abby, the people whose butts she saved when they seriously needed it. I’ll cut the staff some slack on this since a tell is needed to further the juicy storyline underneath which is rising to the surface. If it’s what I think it its, minds will be blown.

Who done it? A diplomat from Kyrkistan named Lavitch who enjoys full diplomatic immunity. Only Fitz can intervene and he refused. The fickle public was back on the Nystroms side with protests at the White House. ‘Justice For Jenny.’ Mellie has a light bulb moment and calls for Olivia.
Abby. What has happened to her? She’s sleeping with U.S. Attorney David Grosan, who’s out to take down her boss. Taking rude to another level with Quinn and she still hasn’t mastered the rapid fire Shonda Rhimes dialogue delivery requirement! It’s very hard to follow her quips and witty comebacks.
Abby is interested in David’s suspicions and that disappoints. Watch your back, Olivia.
David’s wall led him to energy tycoon, Hollis Doyle. A visit to Hollis led nowhere.
Mellie has found her cause. Her seat at the adult table: Jenny Nystrom. Going against Fitz isn’t new to her and at this point, she’ll enjoy it more than ever. Mellie and Olivia went to work doing what they do best. Spin and attention. Mellie got her face on camera with Mr. and Mrs. Nystrom.
Back in the Oval, Fitz and Cyrus are digesting the fact that the women in Fitz’s life are working together and against him. He can’t believe it. 
Cyrus called Olivia for a restaurant meeting. She arrived at a crowded restaurant that clears out fast. No Cyrus. Fitz. The diplomat has been ordered to leave the U.S. The investigation agains Senator Davis has been dropped. His eyes say ‘Have I done enough to please you?’ His mouth invited her to the G8 Summit. She refused, but her words are a lie. Both actors are excellent at conveying emotions and conflict in their eyes, movement, sighs. I’m drawn into the conflict. There is a thin line between love and hate and both require passion.
Where are we going with this? Olivia gives no affirmative signals so he let’s her go. A painful scene of two people in a no win situation who love each other more than words. I cried when Olivia cried. All alone in an empty restaurant. Is this really the end? As her longtime friend, Justice Thornton told her, Olivia was making a mistake. She and Fitz breathe in synch. This is true.
Lavitch is found dead. Drat. Jenny’s dad had just grabbed a handgun and was heading out to do the same. Guess he won’t be catching that flight home. The Huck has struck. He made his penance at his AA meeting and spoke about falling off of his ‘whiskey’ wagon.
POTUS and FLOTUS make a nice show on the walk to Marine 1 for his departure to the G8 summit. The things you’re going to miss Fitz.
A secret meeting is about to take place in Hollis’ office. I gasped a little with each face that entered: Mellie, ailing Supreme Court Justice Verna Thornton, Cyrus and Olivia. The David Grosan issue is the topic. Wall of crazy meet the wall of super powers.
Fitz, tired and weary, took in the beautiful view of the D.C. night sky from Air Force One and exhaled.
Scandal is preempted by the CMA’s next week. Tune in 8 November.
