TLC changed the night of Sin City Rule’s airing from Sunday to Tuesday, so we get a double dose of our ladies from Vegas this week. Let’s jump in!
This episode begins with Alicia arriving at Rain Cosmetics. Lori’s intent on inviting Alicia for a visit; for Alicia to understand that it is not all the women against Alicia. Alicia, in her talking head says that of all the ladies that were at Lana’s the night of the Channel 3 viewing, Lori’s presence hurt her the most. This is a difficult situation, as I can see both women’s points of view. Alicia explains that it is hard for her to understand how the others can see Lana’s unkind treatment towards her and still defend Lana as a good person and remain her friend. Alicia is obviously upset when she asks Lori and Lisa how they can spend time with someone they know can be so mean-spirited. Lori surprises me with her response, I think the Sedona trip did her some real good. She stands firm in her beliefs when she responds strongly for Alicia not to put her in a position to make her feel as if she has to choose sides. Lori explains to Alicia that she cares about Alicia and Lana. She can be friends with both and she will not choose sides. Alicia, surprises me when she says she understands and if it was reversed she would be upset about being dragged into the same situation. She gratefully thanks Lori for the explanation and talk. This is the first time we see Alicia listen and respond with understanding and wisdom. I liked it. I know it is tough to have someone actively hating you and feeling no one has your back. I gained a bit of respect for Alicia during this exchange.
Next scene, Alicia getting her make up done by her stylist. In her talking head, she discusses the damage that rumors and innuendos can do to one in her line of work. She has decided to host a brunch and invite the ladies. Her first call is to Jenn who is working, playing poker. Jenn questions the time of a brunch being at 11:00 am and not 1:00 pm. Alicia is a bit puzzled by the question because as I have suspected, she has trouble seeing things from anything other than Alicia’s eyes. Yes, Alicia, your time for a brunch is acceptable but if you’d just listened to your friend, you would have heard her say she plays poker all night long, hence her joking about an 11:oo am brunch. It wasn’t about you. It was about it being a tough time for her because she will only be getting a couple of hours of sleep. But why mess with pesky listening and empathizing with friends?
Next on our Sin City Rules episode, Lana is picking up Jenn to go to her friend Kim’s house for dinner. Lana explains that Kim and she are in the same social circles and get along very well. She desires to get to know her better. Jenn shares she is on day 53 of a period. Lana caringly suggests going to see doctors in LA or UCLA or New York. Jenn says she has spoken to many doctors and she knows she can’t live like this. I am feeling for her. Who could live like that?
They arrive at Kim’s house and Lana, in her talking head, tells us that she enjoys introducing one group of friends to another. Kim and Jenn both are real and genuine people and she thinks they will hit it off. Kim’s house is stunning. I loved Lori’s backyard space. Kim’s backyard space is a thing of dreams. Absolutely breathtaking!
We learn Kim is a holistic consultant. Her synopsis about how she makes a living is, anyone that does well in the world and has an issue comes to her for a solution. I’m so curious. Wonder if we will learn more about powerful people’s holistic solutions.
The time of Alicia’s brunch has arrived, attendees are arriving. We realize shortly that Lana is not attending and hear Alicia’s talking head about why she thinks Lana is not attending. Let me interject, all the respect, I gained earlier… I just lost.
Alicia’s theory is that Lana rea
lized she wouldn’t be in control and she’d be on Alicia’s turf, and Lana couldn’t handle it. Uummmm….is a public brunch Alicia’s turf? I didn’t speak personally to Lana, but Alicia here is my theory. Lana does not give you the near the attention or value in her life as you give her in yours. I do not believe for a minute Lana was intimidated to be at your brunch regardless of who is present or not present. I do know there comes a time in most adult’s life when we realize how we spend our time is our choice and she chose not to spend her time at your brunch. By the way, you spoke of Lana’s bodyguards and others, who is that group of men you entered with? It didn’t look like the Wu Tang Clan so I’m assuming it’s your backups. Let’s proceed and see…
Alicia begins her performance or presentation to her guests. If I were sitting at that table, I’d be pondering how much damage a butter knife could do to my wrist. I’m so sick of hearing Alicia drone on about this. Alicia begins with Lana saying that Alicia sleeping with married men cuts through her like a knife. Oh, the theatrics are just mind numbing. I guess if you are saying the same thing for the 342 time, you must make it dramatic.
Jenn, making me love her more, says why do you care so much about this. People talk about me and it’s a big who cares. I’m weeping with joy from common sense coming from a Reality TV Show. A member from the posse that Alicia has there, interjects that Alicia, unlike the other peons at the table, ok he didn’t say that part but it was implied, is a public figure. Jenn replies, Uhh, I am too, by the way. I paused the show at this point for a phone call and when I focused back on my screen the picture of Jenn with a member of the non Wu Tang Clan sitting beside her is hilarious. He is jumumgous. Why is he there?? Alicia rolls her eyes at Jenn’s assessment of things. I’m taking this to mean she isn’t going to get over it and she will continue to beat this dead horse. Alicia continues with Act 2, Scene 1.
Alicia starts with the interest in her career and she’s clueless as to why anyone would care other than her and her manager. In another glorious moment, Jenn replies, “I’ll tell you why, because you lied about it!”
I’m tap dancing now. Literally.
Alicia begins, in Jenn’s words, over compensating, with her explanation. Bottom line, she did lose her a job a year ago. She lost two loved ones immediately afterwards and it was a difficult time. What that has to do with anything is a mystery to me. You just admitted lying about your employment status. I’m sympathetic to losing your job and loved ones, but you don’t get to admit to a lie and still call someone else a bully and play victim. Just admit, I did lose my job, I was not completely honest about my current employment and for that I’m sorry. Period. End of story. Now we can move forward. My hunch is telling me that is not how Alicia will do things and it’s now how this will play out. Pressing play.
Amy pulls out some research she has printed out about Lana. In her research, Lana is being sued over the logo she is using. Amy is passing her print outs around the table and Alicia is listening and eating. I’m suppressing a scream in my throat. Alicia, you have given endless tirades about your loathing and bewilderment of this type of behavior. If you meant what you have said, you’d stop this immediately. I am beginning to realize the behavior didn’t bother you near as much as the fact that it was aimed at you. Alright, I realized that long ago.
Amy is now calling Lana the fraud and saying Lana goes after everyone else and it’s time someone went after her. Alicia is thrilled that Amy dug up this dirt on Lana. Alicia is all this person is questioning my integrity? Alicia, you just admitted to lying. Take it easy, whoopersnapper.
Jenn and Lori are flabbergasted. They are confused, as are we, why Amy would be digging up dirt on Lana. Lana has done nothing to Amy. They are now suspect of Amy and what she is capable of.
We are now in Lana’ s office where Lori and Kim have stopped by to fill Lana in on the brunch and Alicia and Amy’s activities at the brunch. Lana is visibly surprised by the news that Amy had done recon on her. She explains her side to the said material presented. Lori and Kim are not surprised there’s a reasonable explanation. Lana says if one comes around her smelling like BS, she will uncover it. Kim being funny interjects, have a shovel and not afraid to use it.
Jenn and Marco are out to dinner together. Marco is talking about his kids horrid behavior on the plane from their one month visit to Italy. He’s still recovering. I so like this guy. Jenn shares with Marco her health problem is still going strong. We find out Jenn has had 2 kidney transplants, so the thought of a hysterectomy is scary for her. She realizes any complications are life threatening. As she talks about her fear of leaving her children, tears popped in my eyes. Any mom that has had a health scare knows those thoughts are the worst possible. Marco asks for more optimism and gets a smile. He has Jenn giggling in seconds flat. I love that guy!
Kim and Lana are together at Lana’s home and Lana has an idea to have a Truce Get Together. A one night truce. All attendees can bring their dirty laundry so that no one has to waste time digging on others. They agree that is should be a place conducive to letting off your masks and feeling comfy.
First call is to Alicia from Kim. Kim explains the plan for the evening, UN with uteruses. Alicia, never letting an opportunity to sow discord go by, goes into a rant about Lana’s sister. I’m banging my head on granite right now. I’m not even going to dignify the rant. Suffice to say, Kim says Natayla will not be present and Alicia begrudgingly accepts. Lana struggles with what was said about her sister. You know the saying, I can say anything about my siblings, but no one else should ever consider saying a word. However, progress moves forward with Truce Night.
Please someone make Andy Cohen watch this next scene with Jenn, Marco and their boys painting a room! Please! More of this, Andy! Less, renewing vows and manufactured drama.
Back to Sin City Rules, Jenn, Marco and their boys are painting a wall. It is reality. It is fun. It is sweet. It is valuable.
Lori is getting ready for Truce Night. She has mixed feelings. She, in her talking head, says she is done trying to fix or mend. Done! Lisa asks what if Amy starts? Lori says I’ll hand them boxing gloves but I’m done!
A car is picking up the girls and no one knows the destination. Amy’s talking head, is that Lana did this after she was outted by Amy and Lana is a joke. Alicia, in her talking head, says that there has not been one event where Lana was not on the attack and aimed at her so why would this be any different. Anyone noticing a pattern on who likes drama?
I loved the over reaction by a couple of guess whos, but my favorite was Amy announcing they were in Drug Central and then pointing out what every single street was. Familiar, eh Amy?
They arrive what looks to be a bowling alley, thunder and lightning and a torrential downpour are going on…
I’m curious to see how Truce Night turns out next week…you?
What did you think of this week’s episode?

Kim is the only one I can stand. And she doesn’t dress like a whore.
Thanks so much for the very detailed recap. I totally missed the extra episode this week. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
Yea and they all go in a limo to one of Amy Hanleys moms old stomping grounds.
It was just as predictable as the first shows. The only good part was Jen’s kids and husband painting the room.
The rest are just mean tacky girls with no class.
And, how did amy age so much in such a short time? She starte dout looking so-so. She now looks like she’s pushing 60.
Please, why is sin city not showing up on my guide anymore? I’ve been watching I. Tlc and now it’s nowhere to be found!! Which channel and which night next week is it on? Thx much
