Sometimes Beauty Is the Pits

My name is Stephanie. I’m a 41-year-old Mom of six kids. Yes, you read that right, six kids. I am also a red-haired, fair-skinned woman with ONE freckle on my face, that showed up about 6 years ago. The dermatologist told me that it was a sun spot, but when his back was turned, I mouthed that he was full of crap. My love (obsession) with makeup began around my 40th birthday. I was always a mascara gal, seeing as how if I don’t wear it, I look like I have no lashes. It’s not pretty. One day I was at the mall, and I walked by the Clinique counter and saw that magic word… FREE… Well, how could I just walk by? I mean, of course I needed over-priced soap so I could get some free eye shadow. Doesn’t everyone? So I dove in head first, and my collection has grown, and grown. I’m not sure if I’ve come up for air yet, but I’m enjoying every second of the adventure. Why? It makes me HAPPY. It makes me feel better. I have fun sharing what I know with others, which is what I’m going to do here.soper2

So I got to thinking, for my first post…what would I share with you? Then I got the idea. If I got dropped on a deserted island, what ONE beauty product what I want to have with me? My answer might surprise you. It’s not an eyeshadow or a lipstick. Not a mascara or an eyeliner. It’s a DEODORANT! Let me explain. About two years ago I noticed there wasn’t a single deodorant on the market that worked for me anymore. I was like a flowery skunk after two hours. (Sorry folks, the truth hurts.) I saw a blurb about Soapwalla all natural deodorant on twitter and I thought to myself, “What have I got to lose?” so I ordered some. I absolutely love this stuff. It works better than anything I have ever used. Here is a little info on it.

Soapwalla Deodorant cream is an all natural yet powerful deodorant that utilizes superfine vegetable powders, clays, and lavender, peppermint and tea tree essential oils to absorb moisture, inhibit bacteria and ensure a long-lasting effective experience. A creamy consistency ensures effortless manual application and quick absorption.

The ingredients:
Organic jojoba, sunflower, rosehip seed oils, shea butter, a combination of all-natural and gluten-free vegetable clays and powders; aluminum-free sodium bicarbonate; organic vegan kosher glycerin; a combination of organic lavender, peppermint, sweet orange, bergamot and tea tree essential oils.

The deodorant comes isoper4n a pot. It doesn’t have an applicator, so you have to get used to applying it to your own pits, but its no big deal. It has a very smooth, almost like a thick cake frosting consistency. It has a pleasant tea tree scent, that fades over time, so if tea tree isn’t your thing, it shouldn’t be a big issue, I have to tell you, since I started using this, I have used nothing else. I have had no issues. Now, I do need to add it is not an antiperspirant. I’m not a huge sweater so this isn’t a huge issue for me, but I wanted to put that out there.

Another reason I love this product so much, is because it is handmade, by one person, out of her kitchen. How incredible is that? I am in awe of someone who can take something like this and make it so special. KUDOS to Rachel and Soapwalla Kitchen.

Nitty Gritty details!

Cost-$14 for 2 oz. These 2 ounces will last you a long time. I usually get a month or more out of a container.
