MTV’S Teen Mom 2 Season 3 Episode 11
Oh my where do we start with these girls? I know you are probably thinking why in the world is a thirty something year old woman watching and now writing about this show? Lets’ see, I was married at seventeen and had my first child at nineteen soooo. One day a couple years ago there was nothing on television to watch and while scrolling through the hundreds of stations that I have, this show caught my eye.
I think first we need to get a little information on all the players. The show follows the trials and tribulations of four teenage moms.
First we have Chelsea (spoiled little daddy’s girl), who is mother to Aubrey. Second we have Jenelle (basket case), who is mother to Jace, which mind you is being raised by Jenelle’s mother Barbara (also a whacko) but we’ll get into that another day. Third we have Kailyn (poor girl from the wrong side of the tracks), who is mother to Isaac. Last but not least we have Leah (naïve and lacking in common sense, she used to be one of my favorites but you will soon learn why that is not the case any longer), who is mother to twin daughters Alianna and Aleeah.
Goodness was there a lot of drama this episode. Leah and her new boyfriend Jeremy go on a weekend getaway, mind you this particular weekend is also her daughters second birthday and the girls aren’t going with them. They arrive at the cabin, which is absolutely gorgeous! I know when I was that age my husband I couldn’t afford a trip like that! Oops sorry couldn’t stop myself from throwing that in there. Anyways, I found it highly inappropriate to be going off on a weekend trip when it was her daughters’ birthday!
Once the happy couple was settled into the cabin, Jeremy suggests that Leah take a nap while he enjoys the hot tub. I did think this was very sweet of him. So far Jeremy seems like a good guy. Flash forward to the next morning, Jeremy makes Leah breakfast in bed, pancakes with slightly burnt bacon, they have a good laugh about this. Leah then notices that there is a card attached to the flowers on the tray table. Jeremy tells her to open it and see what it says. Wouldn’t you know it? Jeremy has asked Leah to marry him. Mind you Leah has already been married and divorced from her daughters’ father, Corey. She of course says yes! I swear this girl is just in love with being in love, but we’ll get back to that drama in a minute.
Next up we have Kailyn. Kailyn has recently become single after a year and a half, not from Isaac’s father though, and recently met a young man named Javi. So far he appears to be a nice guy. Kailyn and Javi go out on a “date” to get to know each other a little better. Kailyn is currently attending college and studying marketing while Javi is also attending college studying Criminal Justice, he wants to be a Cop. Kailyn questions Javi whether or not her having a child is a problem for him. She just wants to make sure that everything is layed out on the table so that she and Isaac don’t get hurt. Javi also wants to make sure that she and Joe, Isaac’s dad, are on good terms, because he doesn’t want to have deal with any “baby daddy” drama. I don’t blame him.
Kailyn at this point really is trying to do what’s best for Isaac and is struggling with where she wants to take her new budding relationship with Javi. She realizes that she must put Isaac first and doesn’t want to confuse him by bringing all different kinds of guys around. He’s getting older now and she knows that he will start noticing. Kailyn is quickly becoming one of my new favorites.
Now on to Chelsea. She’s still working on getting her G.E.D. She only has two tests left, math and science. While talking with her mother she opens up about the fact that she is having issues with the fact that Adam’s (Aubrey’s dad) birthday is coming up and it will be the first time in years that they have not been together for it. Back-story, this girl cannot seem to “get over” Adam. That evening Chelsea invites some friends over to “help” her not be sad about not being with Adam for his birthday and the whole time turns it into a “pity party.” When she starts to cry, and mind you this girl can cry at the drop of a hat, she asks her friends to talk about something else and she’s the one that won’t drop it.
This brings us to Jenelle. Jenelle does not have custody of her son Jace but is allowed to visit with him and take him on outings. On this particular occasion, Jenelle decides to take Jace to a children’s museum. Now you’re thinking “what could possibly go wrong with this?” Well in true Jenelle fashion she screws it up. She has brought a couple of her girlfriends along and they decide to do a puppet show for Jace that is filled with inappropriate language!! Jenelle of course thinks this is funny and laughs and laughs. When Jenelle drops Jace off with her mother she realizes she has voicemail. Upon checking it she discovers it’s from Jace’s “father” Andrew. He called to let her know that he was getting a second job and that he would finally start paying child support. This is the first call Jenelle has received from Andrew in over a year.
This phone call however, sparks up the fact that Jenelle does not know for sure whether or not Andrew is Jace’s father. She opens up about the fact that while they were dating they had gotten into a fight and while drunk she had slept with her friends’ ex-boyfriend. Her mother, Barbara, and Andrew have always known there was a question, but Jenelle has never publicly stated that there were questions about Jace’s paternity. Jenelle claims that she never talked about it because she was embarrassed by it and didn’t want people to think of her as a whore. This coming from the girl that gave up custody of her child so she could party all night and smoke weed. Jenelle and Barbara meet up to discuss how to go about get the paternity tests done and I was happily surprised to see Barbara being very supportive of Jenelle. Typically speaking Barbara can be a very “in your face” bitch.
Now back to Leah, or I should say Corey. Corey and his family throw a birthday party for the girls. Leah of course isn’t there; she’s off having a romantic weekend with her now fiancé. While on the trip Leah calls her mother to give her the “good” news that she’s engaged. Surprisingly Leah’s mom takes the news well and tells her she just wants her to be happy and if this makes her happy then go for it. Leah tells her mom that she’s worried about telling Corey but knows that at some point she will have to.
While on this little getaway Leah and Jeremy discuss children. He admits to her that he would like to have a child with her and that he would like for it to be soon. Which, mind you is understandable, but this is a girl who already has a set of twin toddlers! So you would think that she would at least want to wait a little while, but oh no not miss Leah! Shortly after arriving home from their weekend getaway Leah has her IUD removed! She admits this to her friend while out getting pedicures, wish I could have afforded pedicures when I had three kids under five! You can tell Leah’s friend is highly disappointed in her. Her friend straight up asks her “why didn’t you wait till you were married?” Leah’s response was “cuz I think he really wants a kid.” Can you say “idiot?” This girl is obviously FERTILE because shortly after this conversation Leah takes a pregnancy test and sure as shit she’s PREGNANT!
This brings us back to Chelsea. She finally moved into her new place, which I’m sure daddy is paying for. I tell you what that girl has got some nice furniture considering she doesn’t really have a job! Getting close to taking her last two GED tests and is still stressing over the fact that her and Adam weren’t together for his birthday. Can you say “drama queen?” However while talking with her friend she thinks that she is getting “stronger” because her “stressing” is not like it has been before in similar situations. Yeah we’ll see.
Up next we have Kailyn and the adorable little Isaac going for his first haircut. This scene was just too cute for words. You can definitely tell these types of moments hold a different importance for mommies and daddies. Isaac’s father Joe is in attendance for the momentous occasion but really isn’t paying attention. Kailyn says to Joe “Joe you don’t even care.” Joe responds “it’s just a haircut.” Bye bye curls. Following this Kailyn decides that Isaac and Javi need to meet. She wants to see how they interact with one another. Smart girl. This is also a very adorable scene in which Javi attempts to teach Isaac how to play ski ball. For not having any children of his own, this young man has a great deal of patience and seemed to be enjoying playing with Isaac. At this point Kailyn informs Javi that she does want to “hang out” with him but that she is not ready to jump into a relationship just yet. Javi understands completely. Like I said, I think Javi is good guy.
Now back to Jenelle. She needs Andrew to agree to a DNA test so that they can finally determine whether or not he is the father of Jace. Jenelle calls him and they talk about how she’s doing better, however she is on probation. We also learn that she doesn’t smoke weed anymore. Jenelle asks why he hasn’t come to see Jace since he was three months old. Andrew makes lots of excuses, but does say that he has cleaned up his act and that he’s not the same guy he used to be. Jenelle blows that off, pretty much goes in one ear and out the other. However, Andrew does agree to take the test and does believe that Jace deserves to know for sure who his father is.
Wow! What an episode! Next weeks episode promises GED results as well as DNA results. Corey finds out that Leah is pregnant and Joe wants Kailyn to meet his new girlfriend.

That whole Leah at the cabin thing seemed kind of set up. I wonder if she was already preggers and is now back tracking to build up an appropriate scenario. Also, you can see by her face and how she starts acting little girl like when talking about this marriage that she knows this ain’t right. Again. She is, after all, marrying the same person for all intents and purposes…
Exactly!! Don’t get me wrong I do wish her well but she’s acting like a friggen kid and she really doesn’t have the right to do that anymore.
I don’t even watch the show and I enjoyed your recap! Great Job!!!
