The Booty Blowout Continues, RHOA Recap S5, Ep12

The booty blowout continues this week, starting with Cynthia hosting and judging the Bronner Brothers International Hair Show. Cynthia and Kenya have become fast friends over the little shade that Phaedra has thrown both of their way – as they see it – trying to get services for free. Cynthia looks beautiful as always showcasing her long legs in a short red dress. Miss Lawrence enters with Kenya, in full face and heels. Kenya, of course, has attended the hair show “many times” selling books, signing autographs, selling stuff.

Kenya announces her plans to continue using the distribution deal by making a “stallion booty” video. Somehow, we’ve been talking donkey for weeks now and no one has said boo to the word, now every hates the idea of having a donkey booty and want a stallion booty. I wouldn’t want the ass of a male stud horse (only used to make children), but I don’t have a dog in this fight.

Kandi calls PhaedraKenya has co-opted the idea of doing a booty video which I would agree is a smart business deal, but wasn’t she friends with Phaedra last week? It’s one thing to argue about splits, it’s another to steal your friends idea and walk away thinking your hands are clean. It’s truly “gangster”.

NeNe and Gregg are babysitting their “glambaby” Bri’Asia back in the ATL. They attempt to put together a crib. Gregg does not need to be near the tools. He spent a lot of time complaining and confused. Well, they both looked confused and lost.

Kandi shows up on-time for her “appointment” with Derek J. This is obviously a scripted scene. What hair dresser starts pressing someone’s hair without washing it first? It already looks straight, it doesn’t need to be pressed. But he’s the same one who styled Kim, right? Derek J spills the tea on Kenya’s new stallion video. It was a good set up to hear Phaedra’s reaction. She goes off! For a good Christian Southern Belle, she definitely knows how to throw shade.

“[Kenya’s booty is] the Six Flags Scream Machine booty with lumps and umps everywhere. I knew Miss Kenya was thirsty, but I didn’t know that heifer was starving.”

“The lesson of the day is don’t tell Kenya what you’re doing.” Sad place for a business woman to be.

We see Cynthia in her element – teaching these adorable little kids how to walk for Runway Red that benefits children in Atlanta with HIV. She’s stern but the kids like her. Phaedra tries to force her son, Aiden, into this fashion show. Aiden obviously doesn’t want to do be in it. With Phaedra at one end and Apollo at the other, Aiden ran straight to mom with the sippy cup. Porsha comes out to support Cynthia.

Cynthia likens Kenya stealing Phaedra’s idea to the fact that her, NeNe and Kim are all in the wine business. The major difference here is that none of them went to the other to get it off the ground, only to turn around and do it themselves. Plus, it seems like their names are on a product, they didn’t make and manufacturer the product, did they?

For some reason, Cynthia seems surprised that classless Kenya wasn’t woman enough to tell Phaedra that she was going to use the idea, especially since they were friends. But that doesn’t stop Phaedra from throwing shade about Kenya. Porsha tries to let Phaedra know that this is Kenya’s pattern, only for Phaedra to turn it around and say that Kenya is chemically imbalanced and/or a drunk. Cynthia said it was inappropriate in her interview, but didn’t say a peep about the conversation while she was in it. Tsk tsk, Cynthia. Speak up and say your peace or shut up.

Kenya - Donkey Booty - Production StudioKenya meets up with Kandi at the Big Things Poppin production to get a few pieces for Riley’s bedroom. Tim gets uncomfortable quick when Kandi brings up the donkey v. stallion booty situation. Wait, hold on, now Kenya had completed four weeks of pre-production? So, it’s already dropped two weeks worth of work. Now, she lets Kandi know that Tim had designed the set already for donkey booty, scrapped that work only to do a new stage set for stallion booty? Why would you get a second set made if the first one hadn’t been used and it was your design idea in the first place? I can see now why Kenya hasn’t made herself a household name.

Kandi is not swayed by Kenya’s pleas of righteousness. That’s the key right now – Kenya said Phaedra hurt her feelings. There’s no place for feelings in business. Why doesn’t Kenya ever look hurt when she says she is in her mini-interview? Am I the only person who notices it?

Phaedra and Apollo show up at “Watch It Now” studios to pitch the donkey booty idea for production. Apollo poorly shows them a sample workout – some hip rotation thing. What happened to those moves that he showed Kenya? Phaedra then inappropriately throws in that he does it every night. She says it will be refreshing not to work with a drunkard, but honestly, she doesn’t know these men in a personal setting and to come to Kenya’s defense, Kenya was never drunk in professional capacity. She was on vacation.

Now that Phaedra and Kenya aren’t speaking, Phaedra has taken a liking to Porsha as they sit for coffee. They bond over pregnancy, marriage, and throwing shade at Kenya. Porsha reiterates that this is Kenya’s pattern and she was hurt that Phaedra didn’t take believe her in the first place.

Phaedra at Runway RedRunway Red arrives and Cynthia is in charge. I love that all the kids are dress like kids – full shirts and flats. Aiden decides to walk in the fashion show. Kenya, Porsha and NeNe show up to support. The kids look great. Aiden ends up on the shoulders on Apollo, opting out of traveling the runway alone.

Now, Kenya is upset that Phaedra moved on friendships as quickly as she did. I guess she expected that Phaedra would be sad to lose a new friendship with her. She throws shade back talking about how the Phaedra is playing Porsha. I’m not sure what she’s playing her for, but whatever. She has to talk mess for whatever reason.

Kenya now has let everyone know she’s doing a stallion workout video, except Phaedra. NeNe quickly sides with Kenya, or more against Phaedra. A stallion booty is better than a donkey booty. Let the consumers decide. Unfortunately Apollo gets involved. I hate it when men get involved in ladies’ arguments. Kenya shuts it down quick. She twirls and bows out.
