Glenn and Maggie are feeling randy. I hope they have condoms in the prison. Put your clothes on and come help!
The 2 prisoners aren’t happy in their own hidey hole. They are scared and want to be part of the group. PLEASE! Rick isn’t budging. Like it or leave. Only T-Dog wants to consider bringing them in. Daryl can identify with the inmates, but hell to the no does he want them joining the group. Rick makes the call that separate they will remain.
Back at Camp Koresh Woodbury, Michonne is stalking around the military vehicles and finds fresh blood. Gov approaches her and offers a deal to make her a soldier. Michonne does the unexpected, she spouts off some “Law and Order” style dialogue, questioning the story about the National Guard. He has a tidy answer for each question. He knows he’s not zooming her.
Andrea and Michonne are looking at a map and talking about a plan in their room. Andrea still doesn’t find things too sinister yet. Andrea gives Merle a map showing where Herschel’s farm is located. She asks Merle if he ever wanted to leave Woodbury and he said no. She asked if Gov is a good man and Merle said yes. Consider the source, Andrea.
Merle approaches the Gov doing mens work, also known as golfing. He asks if he can go on a scouting mission for Daryl. The Gov offers to go with him. Sure he does. He either wants Daryl for his skills or his head to gaze at in the evening.
Herschel is on crutches and moving about. Poor guy. Poor group. Here come a herd of walkers through the courtyard where half of the group is! Things get confusing and they’re splintered in 3’s and 4‘s, shutting off gates, unlocking others or going inside.
Then it happens. Precious T-Dog gets a chunk taken out of his shoulder by a walker. He keeps fighting and shooting. Rick and Daryl figured out that someone cut the chain link. Giving heavy eyes to to the 2 prisoners, they’re startled by the prison horns. Sound=more walkers. Who is in there?
Lori, finally in grabbing distance of Carl, and Maggie are trying to get back to their spot in the prison. Walkers on the prowl on all sides. Lori grabs the wall and at commercial break, Chris Hardwick alerts us that the hash tag for tonight is #LoriInLabor. Feels a bit like the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” with the way we all fall in line on hash commands. Leave it to Lori to mook up their most dangerous moment in days by going into hard labor. She’s grabbing the wall and pushing. Slack jawed Carl is speechless and Maggie is telling her to stop pushing because something’s wrong.
Carol and T-Dog are cornered. He takes one for the team and charges the walkers so that she can escape. It really hurt to see those walkers chewing on him. RIP sweet Dog.
Andrea and the Gov have a chat. He’s sorry to learn she wants to leave. Tells her that his wife died in a car accident 18 months ago. That is such a played out tale along with “I”m leaving my wife.” They get all philosophical about life as it was and as it is. She thanks him for the drink and says she has to go. He finally tells her his real name: Phillip. Andrea tries to convince Michonne to stay at Woodbury another day or two.
Rick, Daryl and the helper inmate (New T-Dog) get to the area where the alarm is going off. Out pops the inmate they sent into the yard 2 weeks ago. I totally thought he was walker bait. He attacks Rick and they fight. The gun flies and New T-Dog picks it up and shoots the guy. Smart choice there. No more walker whistle.
Lori wants Maggie to cut her open to get the baby out. Maggie doesn’t want to do it and Lori begs. She wants the baby to survive. She tells crying Carl that she loves him, how great he is and how great he’ll be in the world.
Maggie cuts Lori’s previous C-section scar and they pull the baby out. A new walker whistle! Lori passes and has to be taken care of so that she doesn’t turn. Carl wants to be the one to do it since she’s his mother. This kid is going to be straight up Jack Torrance (“The Shining)” in a few years.
The Rick crew finds T-Dog as walker chow and wince. He will be missed. The guys meet up in the courtyard and Maggie, Carl, and Walker Whistle come out. Maggie shakes her head and cries, holding the baby. Rick loses it and falls to the ground in grief and regret. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.
I don’t read the comic spoilers, but I wonder if this was budget constraints with the Koresh crew or part of the comic line. Whatever it was, I’m hot that T-Dog took a bite. It seems like when someone speaks up for humanity in the old school pre-ZA way, as he did for the inmates, they die. Same thing happened to Dale.
Now who has some formula and Pampers?
