Wendy Mazaros is a Nevada native, born and raised in Las Vegas, I grew up playing in the desert with my brothers, chasing lizards and catching snakes! I rode my horse alongside our beautiful wild horses here in Nevada. Coming from a dysfunctional family, I ran away from home at the tender age of 15 ½ years old and ended up in the “circle of terror”, mobsters, killers and abuse.
When I was lured into the fast life of the Mob complete with drugs, alcohol, bushels of money and a non-stop nightlife. It seemed glamorous, exciting-even romantic. By the time I found the rotten underbelly, it was too late. I then became the wife of the notorious Teamsters and Culinary Union enforcer hit-man Tom Hanley.
When I finally found the courage to write a book called “Vegas Rag Doll” in hopes of helping troubled teens who are thinking about running away from home. I thought it would set me free! Now I know that was only the beginning of my journey. You see, writing the book slashed the first crack into the protective shield I’d managed to build around myself. I had spent years subconsciously smashing down memories and things I’d witnessed like trash in a compactor. If you tamp them down solid enough, they’ll never surface again. But once that shield is penetrated, the genie is out of the bottle and you can’t shove it back in! My, book “Vegas Rag Doll” is an autobiography about my life, running, hiding, and finally deciding not to run anymore… This, my friends is the beginning of my story!
Have also had the opportunity to write a blurb which is published on the book back cover for the newly released Political thriller “Lords of Las Vegas”!
