At this year’s 70th annual Golden Globes Awards, Hollywood sparkles as former host Ricky Gervais was replaced by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, and if they piss off the Hollywood Foreign Press the punishment could be tragic like having to host this train wreck two more times. I found the felines to be witty, with playful banter. The opening monologue was charming, as well as, poked a bit of fun at the industry they were here to celebrate.

“Argo” was the night’s biggest surprise, as director Ben Affleck was honored despite his Oscar snub earlier in the week and went on to win a Globe for Best Director and one for Best Motion Picture – Drama. Now, I have heard critics say “Les Miserables” is a shoe-in for some of the top awards this season, but where were they when the film was begging for financing. The film’s style and rhythm is daring and many then said it just wouldn’t work. It did work and very well indeed. The film, based on Victor Hugo’s iconic novel, took home statues for Best Actor (Hugh Jackman), as well as, Best Supporting Actress (Anne Hathaway) and Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

With tales from the TV side, “Homeland” did rather well with Best Actor (Damien Lewis) win to its repeats for Best Drama Series and Best Actress in a Drama Series (Claire Danes). HBO’s “Girls” and creator Lena Dunham took home wins for best comedic actress and Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy.

So let’s get to the other statue holders for Hollywood’s big night.

So for all those who were not invited to the after parties as we were, let me give you a recap of Hollywood’s drunkest awards ceremony after the cameras were turned off… The after parties.

After the awards ceremony, the Beverly Hilton Hotel was just one of the must stops in the evening’s celeb hopping tour. HBO’s p.a.r.t.y at the downstairs Circa 55 restaurant, as well as, The Weinstein Company’s party at the old Trader Vic’s, was a sure good time. Afterwards, we stopped by the NBC-Focus Features-Universal’s rooftop soiree. InStyle’s annual party in the Oasis Courtyard outshined Fox’s tented bash this year. HBO continued its years-long streak of sophisticated decorations — this year, black-and-white themed tablecloths and vases of pink flowers greeted slightly drunk guests. The party was a bit of a yarn to be honest.

One of the nights best parties was the Soho House in West Hollywood who really rolled out the big red rug waiting for the guests to arrive as they were making their way from party to party. This year’s list of honored attendees, included hosts Tina Fey looking dam gorgeous in a burgundy ball gown, as Amy Poehler also dazzled in her lovely ivory and gold dress.

Robert Pattinson arrived alone but with a drink or two soon went out the door with Kristen Stewart.  The partygoers continued to crawl in, Julianna Margulies, Michael J. Fox, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Westfeldt, Ty Burrell, Zooey Deschanel, Aziz Ansari, Max Greenfield, Michelle Dockery, Jon Hamm, Rashida Jones, Judd Apatow, Seth Meyers, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Adam Driver made the party a glowing success. As the night progressed other thirsty, hungry and barely walking well marinated a-listers are found standing on tables adorning torn dresses and garments giving shout outs to fellow actors.  Hollywood let its professionally styled hair down. The attendees, like this years award show, went out on a high note.
